Hive construction

I am almost finished with my two Warre hives and will be posting pictures shortly. One of the issues I had in the construction was the thickness of the lumber that was available to me. If you buy 1″ lumber, you will notice it is closer to 3/4 inch because the board is planed before being sold. One will have to account for and adjust to this smaller dimension when building as true 1″ lumber is hard to find in Utah.

Another small issue was dealing with the metric system. Instead of trying to convert all dimensions to SAE, it is better to just simply build using centimeters and millimeters. One nice thing about sticking with metric when building hives is you don’t have to add fractions!
